Unlocking True Function with a Holistic Approach to Movement: My ISSA Certification Journey

As a fitness professional, my primary goal has always been to help others achieve their highest potential—physically, mentally, and energetically. It’s this commitment to holistic health that led me to pursue my latest ISSA Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) Course. This achievement marks an exciting milestone in my career, further expanding my understanding of the human body and enhancing my ability to serve my clients more effectively.

Why the ISSA CPT Course?

Movement is at the core of everything we do in life, from simple daily tasks to athletic feats. My focus has always been on foundational and functional training—helping people not only move better but to unlock the true power of their human bodies. The ISSA CPT Course allowed me to refine this approach, deepening my knowledge of human anatomy, biomechanics, and exercise science.

I especially love how much the course emphasizes the client in all aspects of the work they teach. ISSA provides a system for Certified Personal Trainers that allows us to design high-quality programming for both in-person and virtual training. This approach has enabled me to work with clients in a much deeper, more personalized way, creating programs that truly address their unique needs and goals.

We can build a movement program that is completely custom for you—one that you love doing and that delivers the specific results you want. Every exercise, every session, and every progression is designed to move you closer to your personal goals. Nothing you do will be wasted; it will all serve your transformation and help you unlock your body’s true potential.

My Holistic Certifications

Beyond the ISSA CPT Course, I hold several other certifications that complement my movement philosophy, each contributing to my comprehensive understanding of the body and mind:

  • Health and Life Coach (from The Health Coach Institute, now part of ISSA): This dual certification deepens my ability to work with clients holistically, focusing on behavioral change and supporting them through their health and wellness journey.
  • Reiki Master/Teacher: A form of energy healing that supports the body’s natural healing processes and enhances physical performance.
  • Sound Therapist: Using sound waves to harmonize the body’s energy, facilitating relaxation and recovery after movement sessions.
  • Meditation Guide: A tool to help clients connect with their bodies on a deeper level, improving their awareness during exercise.
  • Ho’oponopono: A practice focused on healing and restoring balance, allowing for mental clarity and emotional well-being—crucial for movement.

These certifications contribute to my bottom-up and inside-out approach—a philosophy rooted in strengthening the body from the feet up and aligning internal energy to unlock true movement potential. The goal is not just about building strength or flexibility; it’s about restoring the body’s inherent function so each person can move with ease, power, and confidence in their everyday lives.

A Bottom-Up, Inside-Out Approach to Movement

I believe that true transformation begins at the foundation. The body must be aligned and balanced before progressing to more complex movements. This is why I emphasize foundational training—starting with the basics of mobility, posture, and stability before building up to more advanced exercises. A key part of this approach is foot health. My work with The Foot Collective has shown me that strong, functional feet are essential for balance, stability, and overall movement. By focusing on foot strength, arch support, and proprioception, we create a solid base that improves every exercise and activity, from daily life movements to advanced training goals.

This new education deepens my understanding of these principles and how to help others train them even more efficiently.

Equally important is the inside-out aspect: the connection between the mind, energy, and body. A strong mind-body connection allows individuals to move with intention, reducing the risk of injury and improving performance. Through practices like guided meditation and Reiki, I help clients tap into their body’s energy flow, enabling them to unlock their full potential.

With my recent ISSA CPT Course and hands-on experience with The Foot Collective, I’m even more equipped to help clients of all fitness levels tap into their true potential. I look forward to sharing my knowledge and helping you unlock the true intended function of your body through customized movement training that is both foundational and functional.
